Author Interview Series: Writers’ Quirks Featuring T.I. Lowe

Today I welcome Christian romance writer T.I. Lowe.

T.I., tell us about your latest project.
Newly released book is Goodbyes and Second Chances. It’s a southern tale of rags to riches. Bestseller in Contemporary Christian Romance. Fun, Sexy Rock Star wanting a second chance with his first love—what else could one need in a romance novel?!?!

Now for some quirky questions…
Have you ever fallen in love with one of your characters?
Every one of them, except for the villains, of course. I enjoy writing good ole southern guys—charming,
hot, and fun!

What is the best place for dreaming up your storylines?
I daydream a lot, usually early in the morning before the day decides to fully awaken.

What is your favorite snack while writing?
I eat awful while I write. Normally whatever is closest. Dillon Bleu, Rock Star of Goodbyes and Second Chances, was addicted to Pimento Cheese. Let’s say I eat my share of that stuff while writing about it.

How do you feel about pen names?
I think they are fun. I go by my initials instead of my full name.

What is the most not-true-to-self writing or marketing idea you’ve considered (or done!)?
In Goodbyes and Second Chances, Dillon has a tattoo on his forearm—Benedetto Vita—which means blessed life. I’m considering getting my own tattoo of this if Goodbyes hits #1 on Amazon in its genre category. My other book, Lulu’s Café, has several times, so I’m optimistic on getting my first tattoo—and nervous!!

How are your books different than the millions of other books?
I wrote them! ;-) I write in a southern vernacular full of ain’ts, y’alls, and dangs! I like for my books to be fun, but inspiring.

What one question has no one asked you about your book/character/writing life that you wish they would?
What helps to inspire your stories?

So, what helps to inspire your stories?
I have a concept I begin with and as I explore the new world I’m creating, I compile song playlists for each book. Music inspires me greatly. I always include my playlists at the end of my books to share with my readers. I love when a reader contacts me and says a certain song I listed was perfect for the book.

Where would you like people to connect with you online?
My Facebook page or my website.

Thanks for stopping by, T.I.!

T.I.'s latest release Goodbyes and Second Chances is available now.

  2. As a child, pimento cheese, homemade of course, and fried chicken were our standard picnic foods. I love the south!
